Baby Booties, and so much more!
I just today finished these ridiculously cute baby booties. They took me a day to knit and were so much fun! I learned two new embroidery stitches, the lazy daisy and the French knot. Both were easy to learn, just went on You Tube and tadaa! I was able to learn these new techniques.

Inspired...... Homemade Laundry Soap for $30 per year
I am in a homemaker mode these days. I'm just about to make my own laundry soap (who knew?) that you can make for just $30 and it lasts you for an entire year! I found this recipe on One Good Thing by Jillie, who's blog I love!
So, this is how I made it:
3 bars Fels Naptha, grated (I used my food processor) ($1.33 x 3)
1 box Borax ($5.85 - 76 ounces)
1 box Washing Soda ($4.07 - 55 ounces)
2 cups of baking soda ($0.53 cents)
2 containers of Oxyclean ($7.69 - 3lb. Box)
1 container of Purex fabric softener crystals ($6.97 - 28 ounces)
I know there is a bottle of vinegar in the picture....I did NOT use this in this recipe.....)

Use 2 tablespoons per load. Put it right in the barrel if you have an HE washer.
I started by cutting up the Fels Naptha bars, then mixing them, one bar at a time, with 2 scoops of oxyclean, in my food processor.
Then I double bagged a plastic garbage bag, poured all the ingredients in together, and mixed it really well by holding the top and tumbling it around.
I then used the Oxyclean tubs to store some of the laundry powder in there for easy access in the laundry room. I just left the rest of it in the garbage bag and stored it for when I need to refill the tub!

Saturday!
So I'm laying on the sofa and thinking to myself, self, you should create a blog! So here I am. Currently I'm working on a few (ha ha, more like 20+) knitting projects. I just started the Beekeepers Quilt, and am knitting hexi puffs like my life depended on them! I also just started another blanket, Heirloom by Madeline Tosh.
